We’re Turning Six

Back in 2019, we started Lakeland Lights Co. from our kitchen at home with a handful of ideas and a lot of testing. Our first few batches were made on the hob and then even a sous vide machine (it still has wax on it). We labelled everything by hand, packed up orders at the dining table and dropped off deliveries ourselves.

Since then, things have grown. We now have a small team, two workshop spaces and over 50 scents across our various collections, each inspired by places in Cumbria and North Wales. We’ve worked hard to keep things local, personal and carefully made - and we’re really proud of where we are now.

What’s in the Birthday Sale?

We’re running a birthday sale until 31 May 2025 with up to 15% off across the site.

Still Made Here in Cumbria

Everything we sell is still made by hand in our Cleator Moor workshop. We use soy wax, UK-made fragrances and packaging that’s either recyclable or reusable. If you get in touch with a question, you’ll hear from us directly - we don’t outsource support.

We’ve grown the business slowly and carefully over six years, keeping things close to home. Whether you’ve shopped with us once or many times, we really do notice and appreciate every single order.

It hasn't been without it's challenges - getting going just as Covid got going wasn't ideal and the subsequent cost of living crisis and general uncertainty has made for a bit of a ride. But through it all we have proudly been able to hire locally, bring a little manufacturing back to a part of West Cumbria where so much of it had left and grow a successful candle brand that people really seem to like. We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who's supported the business over the years and we're so pleased to know so many of our customers as friends now too.

Just a Few Weeks to Go

The sale finishes at the end of the month, on 31 May 2025. Some scents go out of stock quicker than others - once they’re gone, they’re gone. If there’s something you’ve had your eye on, now’s a great time to nab that favourite or try something new.
