March Scent of the Month: Ennerdale

Scent of the Month: Ennerdale

We’re excited to introduce our new Scent of the Month series, where we share the story behind one of our candles and answer a question we get asked all the time: "How did you come up with this scent?"

This month, we’re shining a light on our Ennerdale candle, a firm favourite with our customers and one of our most recommended scents. And for the whole of March you can save 10% off too!

The Story Behind Ennerdale

Ennerdale is a hidden gem in the Lake District, known not just for its stunning landscapes but also for its strong sense of community. That’s why in 2019 we visited The Gather in Ennerdale Bridge and asked locals and visitors alike to share their views on the perfect scent for this candle.

Their responses helped shape what became a fresh, citrus-floral blend, combining luxurious patchouli with a bright twist of bergamot. The candle’s green label reflects the lush greens of Ennerdale’s fells, trees, and lakeshores in summer. It’s no wonder this is one of our most recommended candles - whether as a gift or a treat for yourself, Ennerdale is always a safe bet

The Burn-Time Playlist: Ennerdale

To make the Ennerdale experience even more special, we’ve created a curated playlist, designed to match the candle’s ideal 2-3 hour burn time. It’s a mix of sounds and songs inspired by Ennerdale’s landscapes, history and character. Light your candle, press play and enjoy an extra layer of escape inspired by Ennerdale’s charm and character.

World Book Day Bonus

We wanted to share a book that’s brought us real comfort recently: "With the End in Mind" by Kathryn Mannix. Told through beautifully crafted stories, it explores life, loss and the art of saying goodbye.

We found it moving, sometimes funny and always thoughtful - one of those books you can’t help but talk about and we found aspects that provided comfort following the loss of our dog Custer in February.

If you'd like to get it you can do so here and you're also supporting independent bookshops too!

If you do order through our affiliate link, we may earn a commission from Bookshop.org, whose fees support independent bookshops.

We’d love to know - would you like to see more book recommendations in future emails? Maybe even start a little book club? Let us know!
