We have been working extremely hard here at Lakeland Lights Co. over the last couple of months to create something truly unique for the upcoming Festive Season.
We're therefore delighted to reveal "A Brief History of Lakeland Lights Co. Volume I" - our very first, Limited Edition, advent calendar filled with 24 scented soy wax melts inspired by our favourite Cumbrian locations. All handmade by us in our Cleator Moor workshop.
This is the perfect gift for scent lovers as we give you a brief history of Lakeland Lights Company with a tour of the places that make up our range of signature scents.
Behind every door is a different scented wax melt from our range representing a unique chapter in our company's scent story. Be taken somewhere new each day by popping the wax melt into your wax melter and letting the scent fill your space.
Each melt lasts for approximately 10 hours depending on the wax melter used. Up to 240 hours of scent are included in each calendar!

Will you find a Golden Wax Melt?
There are five specially wrapped golden wax melts that have been randomly hidden in this year’s calendar production run.
If you are one of the lucky finders marvellous things lie in store for you, including the chance to come and spend some time in our Cleator Moor workshop pouring your very own custom candle and melts.
The lucky winners will also receive a hamper of Lakeland Lights goodies.
Geography Quiz
Who doesn't love a quiz at Christmas? In your advent calendar, you will find a sticker sheet printed with the names of all of the different scent locations found behind the doors.
Put your geography to the test and match the map drop pins on the Cumbrian map with its corresponding sticker (be careful not to cover any doors yet to be opened!)
Scent Notes
In the guide included with every calendar you will find a handy place to pop your own scent notes. Keep track of your favourites and share your notes with others.
QR Codes
Behind each calendar door, you’ll find a unique QR code that once scanned will take you through to a secret page on the Lakeland Lights Company website and give you a more detailed history of that particular day’s scent.
To scan the code you will need a smartphone with a camera. Most phone camera apps will read the code and give you a link to the web page.
PRE-ORDER INFORMATION
The first batch of calendars can now be pre-ordered on our website. We anticipate that first deliveries and shipments of these will begin to go out starting on Monday 17th October 2022.
We will be releasing further batches according the release schedule below - we have limited overall quantities available and each calendar takes time to make and put together so we are staggering the release to manage demand.

If you wish to make use of our free Local Delivery or Workshop Collection services for your calendars, please ONLY select a chosen delivery/collection date after 17/10/2022for the First batch. If a delivery/collection date is selected before this date, it will automatically be rescheduled to the week of the 17th October. We'll announce collection/delivery dates for future batches soon.
Phew! That's quite a lot to take in we know - nearly done though we promise!
We want to finish up with a couple of points. Firstly, we have limited overall quantities available this year. There will be more than one batch available in the coming weeks but once our stocks go, there won't be any more available this year.
We also didn't want to offer just another gift type advent calendar. We wanted to create something truly unique, which tells you the story of our little candle making company and which is priced to make it accessible to as many people as possible in these uncertain times. It does have lots of extra fun features which we hope makes opening each day really enjoyable for you all!
