In a world where prices are constantly on the rise, we wanted to buck the trend and show that we're a business that's committed to keeping its products as accessible as possible. Here at Lakeland Lights Co., we're excited to share with you our decision to freeze prices on our luxury scented soy candles in 2023. This follows on from the same commitment we made in 2022 meaning that since we were established in 2019, we have never put prices up. We firmly believe in doing what's right for our customers, even when it's not the easiest path for us.
Why We're Freezing Our Prices:
As a small family business based in Cleator Moor, West Cumbria, we've faced our fair share of challenges, including the immense disruption caused by Covid followed by our well documented supply issues and now cost increases. To give you an idea, things like our soy wax have increased in price by over 60%, packaging and glassware has similarly risen and our own rents are on the rise. Don't get us started on the energy costs which have inexplicably increased by almost tenfold over the winter in our front workshop! However, despite all of this, we're committed to keeping our beautiful candles inspired by Cumbria and the Lake District affordable, regardless of the challenges we face. Just because everyone else is putting their prices up doesn't mean we have to. There are more than just decisions around margins and bottom lines to be made as a business and we firmly believe in taking action based around making the right moral decisions, even if it presents challenges. By freezing our prices, we believe that we are doing the right thing for our customers, while also allowing more people to enjoy a little bit of luxury in their lives.
